  • A 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor tribute is a modern reinterpretation of one of the most iconic American muscle car designs ever created. Inspired by the aggressive fastback made famous in the film Gone in 60 Seconds starring Nicolas Cage, the Eleanor-style Mustang combines classic 1960s muscle with custom performance and bold visual presence.

Based on the 1967 fastback body, an Eleanor tribute typically features the distinctive body kit that defines the look: a custom front fascia with integrated driving lights, extended side skirts, hood with functional scoops, flared wheel arches, rear deck spoiler, and signature side-exit exhaust. The cars are most commonly finished in metallic gray with black racing stripes, although other color combinations exist. The stance is low and purposeful, often sitting on large five-spoke wheels that enhance its aggressive profile.

Under the hood, specifications vary depending on the builder, but many Eleanor tributes are equipped with upgraded V8 engines, often ranging from a built 302 to a 351 Windsor or even larger displacement performance builds. Modern enhancements such as electronic fuel injection, upgraded cooling systems, performance camshafts, and reinforced drivetrains are common, making these cars significantly more powerful and reliable than a stock 1967 Mustang.

The suspension and braking systems are usually modernized as well. Coilover conversions, reinforced chassis components, rack-and-pinion steering upgrades, and four-wheel disc brakes improve handling and drivability while maintaining the raw muscle car character. Inside, the cabin often blends vintage styling with custom touches such as sport seats, brushed aluminum trim, custom gauges, and improved sound insulation.

An Eleanor tribute is not a factory Ford model but a custom-built homage that captures the spirit of late-1960s American performance culture. It represents a blend of cinematic fame and classic muscle heritage, offering the timeless fastback silhouette of the 1967 Mustang enhanced with modern performance and unmistakable road presence.
